Emeria Angel

So I thought I would re-do the MTG card Emeria Angel, she was in the first deck I started playing competively in. Not such I great deck, more built upon how good looking the cards were - twas angels and sphinx's during the end of the Zendika block. Just wanted to personalise the deck.

Heres the original card - Art by Jim Murray. The artist's of MTG do truly an amazing job

The Gruffalo

The other part of the assignment for Illusrtation for design. This character comes from the book 'The Gruffalo" by Julia Donaldson and illustrate by Axel Scheffler. So take the pre-exsisting character and re-design it appropiate for the age group and referencing what he looks like.
There quite a list of all the elements the Gruffalo is appearance wise.
Had trouble with getting a balance with the scary/cute child appropiate image. Had great help from the a tutorial by Bobby Chiu in the Imagine FX magazine issue 72. I find this image a lot easier to look at in compare to Rapunzel.

Rapunzel

For the majour assignment for Illustration for desgin, had the choice of re-designing 2 out of 3 characters. This is the first character Rapunzel, was not allowed to reference Tangled, the interpretation had to come from the original Grimm fairytales. Had to appear for publishing and have text upon the page.

Really enjoyed the task, went for the section of text where Rapunzel's was being cut off by Madame Gothel. Wanted the to scary and dramatic as Rapunzel looses her hair/identity. Most painful part of the process was getting the hair right.

Fashion Illustration

Assignment 4 for Illustration for desgin, missed part of the brief where if you choose a famous person it had to look like them. Sorry I am not really interested in whats popluar mainstream becasue I had no idea who Amanda Seyfried is I just liked the reference image. So I was supposed to a photoshoot into a fashion illustration.
Still like the image as a whole, first used vectors and masks in flash and added the hair from photoshop

Labelling - Wine bottle

Assignment 3 for Illustration for design, had to take a pre-exsisting wine bottle label that didn't
have any imagery on it and give an image on the design. The name and company brand had to be
maintained. The image on the product
The image flat

Logo - The Bower

Second assignment for Illustration for deisgn, we were given a brief and had to produce a logo
for a company, the name was not my choice. Introduced me to the pantone matching system.
Had a colour limit of three and produced a black and white version and a one colour verison, had to be max size of 2cm and readable on a company card
